Originally from Canada and now popular in France, the concept of the canipark is based on the same principles and infrastructure as a dog leisure park.

The canipark is a secure and fenced space specially designed and adapted for dogs composed of green spaces and an area for the needs of dogs, shaded areas and play areas to practice dog agility and run dog courses, cani-hike.

Caniparks are created and managed by local authorities or by foundations and non-profit associations to promote the well-being of dogs and provide them with a safe environment for dog walking and socializing with other dogs. In France, the majority of caniparks require that dogs be vaccinated and respect other canines present.
